A lot of people put up social snapshots onto facebook. This is not a problem, but consider when you're a bit more serious about your photos, and your continued ownership of them.
I appreciate that artists may need a facebook presence, including some photos for purposes of publicity. But you should consider those photos effectively thrown to the wolves - by uploading them, you have given them to facebook, lock stock and barrel. If you have a gallery, consider keeping it elsewhere for safety. Flickr works for me. Link to it from facebook.

Link of the day: The Times says Time for Facebook addicts to face the music: "Facebook always succeed in resurrecting those old faces that one has worked so hard to leave behind ... Facebook is a goldmine of tosh – a monument to mediocrity"
Well, I find there's a lot less content on Facebook as there is here on LiveJournal, but apply this to social networks in general: If your friends list is tosh and mediocrity from people that you barely know, It's not Facebook's or LiveJournal's problem, it's yours. If you find yourself "friending" people you don't want to, then just don't do it. If the content that is served to you is tosh and mediocrity, then unsubscribe from it. Subscribe to feeds that you want to read.
What is served to you reflects your personal choices, nothing more. If someone says "I don't like LiveJournal, it's full of xxx", then they are speaking only for the friends list that they chose. Insulting it in public tells us more about them than it does about the website. It says that they're disgusted with themself, don't realize it and are blaming someone else. That's a poor mistake to make in print.
